BaneCorp. is a fictitious corporate entity whose mission is to transcend the coordinated matrix of not- and for-profit, government and non-government organizational schema, providing a cultural model for their gradual replacement by a globally empowering program of maximally efficient, anarchistic enthusiasm. We aim to realize the realism of irrational exuberance.

In spite of its grandiose mission, BaneCorp recognizes the efficiency opportunities that often correspond with specialization, and focuses on the development, implementation and distribution of procedures for psychic warding and defense in a variety of social situations that are most typical in post-industrial, globally empowered societies, where ingrained rules-of-engagement (matrix enchantments) hold considerable sway over individuals' ability to recognize and respond to opportunities for maximum efficiency in the enactment of public administration to community or personal needs and aspirations.

Our founding principle and flagship contribution is Reaperbane(TM), an incantation-class, multi-valenced spell developed for the purpose of clearing and warding the majority of matrix enchantments. BaneCorp's theoretical social analysis and field study have shown that the majority of impediments to maximum efficiency arise from fear of death. Most matrix enchantments invoke this fear as a primary component, so the most basic and empowering defensive and warding magic begins with the use of 'clearing' procedures that dispel the fear, freeing the warded subject to see and act on principles of maximum efficiency. Projection of the base spell using modifier components sensitive to particular situations (i.e.: tailored to the widely varying circumstantial discourses of matrix enchantment, as in commercial product discounting by junior management vs. government bureaucratic property registration by a rank-and-file employee directly monitored by mid-management) can yield a 'field effect' that invokes a temporary, semi-autonomous zone within the wider theater of matrix enchantment (a.k.a.: the Greater Realm of Mordor, the geo-conceptual sphere where death-fear holds sway through one of a number of matrixed socio-procedural media). Within such a zone, the subject can successfully solicit human-centered advice and even procedural expedition of the interface with relevant structures of social power.

BaneCorp transcends the matrix of death-fear both through product development and through its own organizational structure and process. BaneCorp provides leadership, globally-recognized branding and distribution systems, and legal advocacy for any project that a) wants to affiliate and, b) shares significantly in our revolutionary spirit of exuberance. Maximum potential efficiency occurs where ver power hierarchies are categorically minimized, so the great majority of BaneCorp programs are voluntary, provisional affiliations by free agents who cooperate because they see BaneCorp as the best medium for the realization of their own aims. BaneCorp has internalized core participants who serve as its directors and share the work of executing and delegating essential portions of the BaneCorp program. Internal associates work because we value our work-product, including the process of its distribution and end-use, and because we receive appropriate compensation; associates collaborate in various temporary leadership hierarchies because we recognize their usefulness and the opportunities they provide for learning from one another.

Affiliates of BaneCorp see the core team as more or less appropriate leaders for their own projects, and delegate whatever aspects of development and leadership seem appropriate on a short- or long-term basis. BaneCorp is ultimately responsible to its own name and goals, and insists on the v igilance and participation of all affiliates so that they may ensure the realization of their own goals. However, taking proactive ownership of explicated responsibility maximizes organizational efficiency, and BaneCorp actively pursues creative covenants that outline such responsibility in both administrative and executive work, as appropriate.

         Law and property are at the heart of civil society. The BaneCorp LPD aims to revolutionize the standard operating procedures of civil society through a focused program of agressive competition. Wherever possible, the LPD will grasp, maximize and radicalize existing and prevalent ideologies and methodologies in ways that lift them up to the next level, or break them trying. Neo-liberalism, in particular, has had ample opportunity to make something of its position at the helm, and it is time for its pet paradigms to meet themselves in the mirror of extreme realization, or to test themselves on the field of extreme competition.

         CC is BaneCorp's department for close-affiliation contracting both internally (between BaneCorp and its own affiliates) and externally as a professional service to clients who require unconventional covenants that are effectively binding in the sense of integrative of the bound parties, as well as relatively free from the tendancy toward technical rather than spiritual interpretation that is characteristic of conventional legal instruments. The CC department acts as a clarifying and constructive mediator for clients who want to work together and who demonstrate faith in one another's good intentions and a desire to amplify such intentions through the process of the covenant, rather than call them into doubt.

         All BaneCorp-authored covenants include a clause that biases interpretation against any party that has demonstrably engaged in "willful obstruction of maximum efficiency".

The 'works' are what would be discernable to a future archaeologist or anthropologist after all of BaneCorp's ephemeral sound and fury faded away in the sands of time. Sustenance, as conceived within a simplified version of BaneCorp's scheme, consists of two basic components: the erotic (in a strictly Freudian sense) satisfaction of work, and the practical necessity of fuel. ('fuel' consists of food and some recreational material/activity for people; money and 'new blood'- or evolution-type inspiration for the organization(s).)

         HAG positions itself cunningly in the role of playful critic within a world market of quality goods hand-crafted in a variety of working conditions. HAG aims to develop interest and sales by marketing products 'made in USA', while simultaneously emphasizing the long-term interdependence between domestic and foreign working conditions, and the increasingly weak position of labor in the U.S. vis-a-vis the pressures of Capital in a world where neo-liberal (and now neo-conservative/imperialist) ideologies have stripped many workers of basic security, power, and effective (enforced) human rights.

         HAG also seeks to refute the American middle-class construct of 'the new' by re-fashioning old materials and by theorizing and demonstrating the economy of repairing and recycling. All else equal, goods with history are inherently more satisfying than those without. They speak to end-users of the manifold alternatives, openness and liberty that hide within our everyday material world, particularly when the things have been re-visioned in a process of recycling.

         * Public-Good Space Exploration Consortium (PG-SEC)

PG-SEC is a 22-year space program initiated in 2000 to put space exploration in the hands of a non-government representative of the public good. It’s program is to launch 12 human-operated space vessels, one per year, starting 2010. The vessels will be designed to support from 1 to 12 humans in varying degrees of induced torpor for at least 100 years. Under ideal conditions, they will be prepared to colonize a planet or self-modify to extend the operational range and life-span indefinitely. The consortium may include JankCo, Future Widgets, ReaperTech, Survival Research Laboratories, and others.

Begun as a subsidiary initiative of BaneCorp's ReaperTech research and development division, for the purpose of field-testing bane-class spellcraft in a controlled environment of minimal psychotoxins, GardenRobics has emerged as a powerful and diversified services, education, and media production company in its own right.

ODP is an affiliated consortium of real estate investors, designers, builders, and tenancy cooperatives, whose purpose is to vertically integrate the real estate development process in a manner that empowers end-users and their existing or imagined communities by maximizing their stake in development and in equity growth and/or profit-taking. ODP facilitates the realization of intentional community through its own initiatives and by expediting others' in its capacity as consultant and contractor. ODP seeks to be an innovator and modeler of alternatives to community-interrupting gentrification, in urban environments, and to the culture-vulture, parasitic role typical of suburbs vis-a-vis the urban centers that provide their cultural and economic anchor. ODP will revive urban micro-economies by empowering the communities that are their ground; it will reverse the typical cultural flow from city to suburb by initiating intentional ex-urban communities that function as urban-centered, pioneering cultural experiments that have an integral link and simbiotic interchange with the life of the mother metropolis. Such ex-urban developments will emphasize their partnership relation to the city, based on an understanding of urban/rural localities as life-style poles that can provide compensation for one another as individuals move between them in both short- and long-frame (seasonal and 'life stage') personal engagements.

* ODP Resort Prison Contracting (affiliate of the Office of the Standby Revolution) low-ball bids contracts to operate high security prison facilities by mobilizing the resources of prison reform and other not-for-profit organizations and reducing operations costs by developing in turn prison models where prisoners enjoy their abode and do not sap energy by engaging in direct or indirect attempts to escape or subvert (the Orwellian/Huxlian potential of this and other BaneCorp init iatives is duly considered at every step).

         The Office of the Stand-by Revolution seeks to influence government and non-government policy by a tactical program of deterrence modeled, with a shit-eating sense of irony, on the systems of deterrence set up by the the U.S.A and the U.S.S.R. during the 20th-century Cold War.

         The Stand-by Revolution's primary mission is to never be called to action; its method is to maximize fear of its activation, and thereby deter potentially opposing forces from acting in an actually opposing manner. Its programs include a wide array of activities, conferences, networking, research and development of cheap and/or powerful tools for revolution, and other programs, all designed to maximize the credibility of the threat of the potential revolution. Under no circumstances does the Office of the Stand-by Revolution advocate or condone revolution, nor does it assist in any actual revolution, just as the U.S.A.'s aggressive development of conventional and massively-destructive weapons never reflected actual aggressiveness against another nation, merely a defensive posture of deterrence.

         The Office of the Stand-by Revolution is a stout supporter of the U.S.A as it is presently constituted. It believes in the U.S.A.'s democratic process and in its promise as a place of freedom and prosperity that may inspire others. We only pray that the fundamental principles of the United States never become so degraded that a second revolution should be necessary for their restoration.

daemon

= Super-human entity

Cultural-material matrix phenomena that drives and/or directs(influences) material and/or social reality through wide-spread and intense integration of one or more aspects of its inmost nature with an aspect or aspects of another or other entities and entity-groups, such as humans, eco-systems, geographical/political/conceptual regions, or any other agregate conception that can have an interface (sub-universes). Non-universal god. Demi-god. Daemons tend to be earth-centered, as opposed to active throughout our solar system or beyond, and are generally at least capricious, if not downright malicious. Their more healthful counterparts are spirits and angels.

         = Geologically-Consolidated Hydrocarbon Fuels

         Epitomized by the oil at the heart of most Mid-East conflicts between that region and other world powers, this daemon physically interfaces with and influences the biosphere, and also interfaces with world politics and culture through a kind of energo-pharmacological process of social addiction, administered worldwide at gunpoint.

         Modern military is more of a contemporary social condition than an asset or liability that individual nations may aspire to or shun. Regardless of geopolitics, regardless of the number of offensive-capable national militaries, the condition of Modern Military operates as a kind of iron golum in service to both of the energy daemons, GCHF's and Electricity. Military needs fuel for mobilizing missiles, bombs, guns, men, and other agents of last-resort compulsion, and fuel to generate the derivative electrical energy that powers communications, information technology, and finely-controllable power for the manufacture of weapons and the systems that mobilize them. Militaries compete, creating an inherent need for more of what fuels them, oil and electricity. Military is an enchantment or golum of the energy daemons, and its inherent consequence is to induce societies to draw more GCHF's out of the depths of the earth and into the biosphere, where they can operate more dynamically and energetically.

         For example, the U.S. initiated an oil-centered industry/infrastructure race by choosing a path of empire that coincided with the birth of domestic and worldwide oil development. Early oil magnates recognized oil as daemon, even if they conceptualized its potential global power in other terms. They considered, perhaps rightly, that its inherent properties at that world-historical moment of newly-consolidated nation states, highly-developed, machine-based manufacture, and expanding global trade, would provide the perfect tool to stimulate unprecedented military and economic consolidation -- in their own hands, they hoped.

         Rockefeller, and other oil-empowered economic agents of the time, wielded their power to move the U.S. federal government and its military to build the roads and culture of personal, oil-fueled transportation we live in and with today. It could not have been invisible to such major players at the beginning of the 20th Century that a nation equipped with oil-based power and mobility would be best poised to continue oil development world-wide, and thereby dominate the world both militarily and economically. As the obvious fuel choice for a mechanizing modern military, oil became central in U.S. plans for empire (of which, others have shown, there were many). It is very simple to see now, and must hardly have been difficult to see then: the nation that could fund the most oil development fastest would win world dominance. Since the U.S. was not then perpetually engaged in large-scale warfare, some other cause for rising demand would need to be created. Answer: replace rails with interstate highways and coordinate American culture with the personal automobile until there could be no 'economic' alternative. It might not be too cynical to suggest that both world wars were initiated or fanned by industrial and government operatives in Europe, who saw clearly the imbalance of power that would result if Americans continued to develop oil without competitors, and decided war was the fastest way to build up that competition in both production and demand. Industrialists in Europe and those who were set to rise or fall with their fortunes were more interested in war as motor of oil development than in which side would win or which side ought to win.

         In spite of the great wars in Europe, the U.S. achieved its oil-based dominance, marked by victory in WWII and capped nicely by the dramatic display of a still greater energy daemon (atomic fusion). At home, there could be little evidence of the new oil addiction's side effects, since they appeared only in the suffering of victim-states elsewhere around the world. There could be little to complain about in the immediate experience of most people. Most Americans could see no dangerous daemon at work; life was simply good. For the few who recognized the signs of great power at work the daemon had been invoked and tamed successfully: oil power brought wealth and cheap imports to generations of hyper-consumers, and it was securely in American hands. Only the parallel development of atomic weapons/energy, with its similar economic/military development partnership, would cast any significant shadow over the mainstream life of the nation. Atomic energy first manifested for everyone in the dual, fuel/weapon mode that has always remained more subtle in the life of the GCHF's, and consequently the Atomic daemon has met with more widespread apprehension. This maker of mushroom-clouds has already and continually been represented and discussed using daemon-concepts, and so it is not surprising that there has been significant resistance from the beginning, and from all sectors of society, to atomic 'daemon-invocation' as a means to both/either economic and/or military power.

         The daemon-status of GCHF's has remained only marginally conceptualized, and is far from becoming the common understanding. There is no easy end within sight to the powerfully destructive relationship between the GCHF daemon and Military, its iron golum. Modern military will depend on oil power until something better replaces it through competition (i.e.: cold fusion or hyper-refined, fast-acting cultural warfare). BaneCorp continues to develop schema and procedures that will resist a simple transition to new daemon-power relationships, and promote fuel/energy cultures that minimize militarism and maximize local autonomy.

         case: Electricity daemon

         = A global matrix of energy-pheonomenon involving cosmic ion-streams, global electro-magnetic currents, and electrical currents through the man-made power grids and information grids (networks), and in individual electronic devices. The fundamental properties of electricity combine with the world-shaping force of global energy patterns to infuse the development of technology with a certain telos, or intentionality. The power engendered by electricity-in-technology drives the development of successive generations of ever more powerful manifestations of electricity-in-technology. This trend has achieved ‘escape velocity’: the point where the wishes of any person, community, corporation or government have no determining effect on whether or not further development continues. The raw power invoked through the information of energy across the globe means that, even if any one person, group, nation or group of nations should wish to respond in a determined way, there will always be others that have access to the power in a way that ensures its continuing propagation.

= Enchantment-class spell/magic

Most often emanates from either or both of the energy daemons (geologically-consolidated hydrocarbon fuels -- GCHF's -- and the derivative, but far more agile, mercurial, and chemically-adaptive Electricity) that presently share cultural and significant material influence over much of the biosphere and beyond.

= Typical or predictable, though usually obtusely- or counter-intuitive, pattern of trans-substantial influence.

Magic gives name to a process inherent and natural to reality and all its manifestations in what we call particular things and systems of things, or kinds of energy. It is present when patterns of trans-substantial influence become manifest, but are difficult to explain except by resorting to pattern-naming or macro-level understandings of non-observed patterns of interaction between and among energy, matter, and organizations of either or both. = Magic between sentient beings that tends to damage or obstruct efficient thought and/or clear feeling. Most commonly generated as the unintentional build-up of tense interactions, psychotoxins may also be consciously wielded as a power tool that is dangerous to both the victims and the wielder, because psychotoxins reproduce like a virus, affecting grains of thought and feeling at a mostly pre-conscious level to develop new ground for mental degradation.
